As usual, I got into a weird discussion with a friend about the “correct” way to sort laundry for washing. Here’s mine:
- Whites
- Shirts
- Towels and sheets
- Other (jeans, underwear, socks, etc)
What are yours? Let’s see some comments!
Musings, observations and other useless drivel.
I sort the laundry loads by colors – I don’t have ANYTHING that fits into the “delicate” category: Blue, Black, Gray, Red/Perple, Earth Tones, Green, White (split between undershirts, socks, other). Green and red often end up in with something else because there’s not enough for a full load. Linens & towels get their own loads. Everything’s washed in Cold/Cold with non-chlorine bleach except for undershirts which are washed Hot/Cold and use Chlorine bleach.
If I told you I washed my kitchen towels with my underwear would you still want to eat at my house?
I would have to agree with Dave…I sort more by color than anything else…Of course Jen has her own pile of “delicates” that I don’t dare touch.
I do whites, towels, dark clothes like jeans and work type shirts then some of my colored I do by themselves. sheets are done alone.
I love comment #2 and agree LOL
1. White
2. Colors
And I hate doing it…..
Most of my clothe do end up shrinking…. I think the excessive drying causes that.
1) towels and undies
2) jeans and slacks
3) nice tops to hang dry and wash on delicate
