News from small town Vermont…

So my Mom keeps getting me a subscription to the Vermont Standard newspaper, and though it can be a bit repetitive (let’s face it, not a lot happens there) there are always some high points.

For example, this amazing scoop by the paper; does CNN know about this???

Even better is the police log for the town of Woodstock shown below.  Keep in mind that this is for an ENTIRE WEEK and these are the events that were worth mentioning in the paper.  I can’t decide if my favorite is the car/deer collision on the 29th or the car/mailbox collision the day before.  Vote for your favorite in the comments!

What goes on in the Spooner Barn and why would they need an ambulance? I try not to think about it.

My parents live in a small town in rural Kansas. The other day, a policeman came to the house to tell them that they had a kid in the road. [One of their goats was on the loose].

My favorite is the juvenile not returning home on time. That’s totally a reason to call the police!

I like the “possible” larceny story! I think that implies that’s it’s highly possible that he misplaced the papers, but wasn’t sure, so he called the cops just to be safe! Too funny! This paper is very much like my hometown’s of Newport, Vermont. My mom send it to me on occasion and I love reading that section too. I do have to say that Fountain Hill’s can be very entertaining as well. 😉
