Who’s going to vote for this Schmuck?

Saw this down in Tempe; wow.

Quote of the day…

…from my friend Jenell who just came back from visiting her family in Kansas:

“The nice thing about visiting your parents is that you come back with a suitcase full of CLEAN clothing.”

New ice cream place near me! Oh no!

My friends Mark and Julie, who own several zPizza franchises in town, just opened their own ice cream place called “The Pink Spot” next door to the zPizza on Thomas and 3rd Avenue. It is too dangerous since they connected the two stores so you can go from pizza to ice cream without even venturing outdoors!

They are thinking of opening a Weight Watchers franchise in the next store over.

Patiently waiting for a ride…

I saw this dog a while ago outside my favorite Mediterranean restaurant; pretty patient if you ask me.  It was totally just sitting there!

I love “Best of Craigslist”…

How can I NOT, with ads like this one?

Friendly fire incident in our dodgeball league…

Check it out halfway through with the red team; Damien nails Chris in the head. I’m glad I’m on the green team.

In honor of the recent Scripps 2008 National Spelling Bee…

…here are my awards for winning the school spelling bee in both 6th and 7th grade. Don’t get excited; I lost in regionals both times. In 6th grade I lost on “irrigation” (spelled it “irrAgation”) and in 7th grade I lost on “rhinoceros” (spelled it “rhinoceroUs”). Hey, I was just a little kid!

The sad part is not that I won twice; it’s that I’ve kept these ridiculous awards for so long, though I have blocked out the years so you don’t know just HOW long…

I’m trying to count all the ways that I am screwed here…

I count at least four (not counting my being a lesbian). And what is up with “Witches”??? I thought belief in witches went out a few hundred years ago.  And “Sports Fans”?  Is someone just trying to be controversial?

Sleevefacing, part deux.

I am still fascinated by sleevefacing; here are a few more awesome ones. I can’t decide whether Willie Nelson having little boobies creeps me out or turns me on a little, but I know that the ginormous Tom Jones head is something I will undoubtedly see in a future nightmare.

The saddest yard sale in history…

…took place across the street from my house a couple weeks ago. Keep in mind that what you see here is not just the detritus left over after the sale has been picked clean by a large Hispanic family who showed up in a full size van; this was the WHOLE ENCHILADA.

When I went over and looked the total cost of EVERYTHING would have been about $26. It almost made me just give her $30 and then take it all to Goodwill and then write it off as charity.
